Custom software development
Software that fits the way you work.
Start with the problem
What needs to
work better?
I work remotely with businesses worldwide, building custom web applications, client portals, internal tools, and API integrations. These are types of work I can build, not identical packages. The useful scope starts with your business.
Client portals.
When email attachments are not a workflow.
A place for customers to exchange documents, access agreed information, and follow a process. User roles, access, and the actual work behind the interface are part of the scope.
Booking & administration.
The booking is only the beginning.
Connect the customer-facing experience with availability, internal administration, and the steps your team handles next. Not every business fits the rules of an off-the-shelf booking widget.
Internal business tools.
For the work that keeps falling between systems.
A defined workflow for your team, built around the information and decisions they actually use. Start with one useful release, not a wish list presented as a single package.
Connected systems.
Stop entering the same thing twice.
Bring data and actions together where integrations make sense. We check the available APIs, data quality, and dependencies before promising what can be connected.
An accounting application.
Not just the website that sells it.
My most complex build so far.
The whole product.
Double-entry accounting, AI-assisted workflows, document processing, and a Git-style ledger history. A self-hosted application, its interface, documentation, launch site, and licensing.

The difficult part is real.
Accounting rules and multi-currency transactions are not decorative interface features. The system has to support the work behind the screen.
AI with a history.
Documents can become entries, while uncertain cases wait for review. Changes remain visible in the ledger history.
Built beyond the demo.
Application, user experience, self-hosted delivery, documentation, and the commercial website. Designed and developed together.
Evidence of depth. Not the promised scope of every project.

Custom is a decision.
Not the default.
If a good existing tool solves the problem, I will tell you. The point is to make your business work better, not to manufacture a larger development project.
Use what already fits.
A standard job with a suitable product, or a gap that can be solved with a sensible integration, does not automatically need a custom application.
Build what genuinely needs to fit.
Custom work makes sense when the workflow, customer experience, business rules, or connections are important enough to justify owning a system built around them.
How we make it concrete
Less uncertainty.
More working software.
You should know what you are committing to, see useful progress, and understand what happens after launch.
Define the job.
We identify the users, workflow, business rules, data, and integrations. For larger projects, a paid definition phase turns the idea into requirements, a phased plan, and a responsible build proposal.
Agree the first useful release.
We establish what is included, what successful delivery looks like, the implementation price, and the first working milestone. You are not signing up to an undefined development bill.
Build it where you can see it.
I design and develop the working system. We review the real workflow, test the agreed functionality, and handle changes explicitly rather than letting the scope drift.
Put it into use.
Deployment, access, documentation, training, and handover are agreed with the scope. We also define who handles hosting, maintenance, and improvements after launch.
On design and technical judgement
"Felix Krusch developed two websites for us, experimenting with a wide variety of formats, all of them creative and successful. I particularly appreciate his combination of creative design and technical expertise, coupled with a clear openness to new, AI-oriented solutions. A clear recommendation for anyone looking for a creative, technically skilled, and reliable web designer."
Is this covered by the website package?
No. The website starting price and its typical 1-3 week timeline apply to a defined business website, not custom software. An application has its own requirements, implementation quote, and delivery plan.
Can you give me a fixed price?
Yes, when the scope is sufficiently defined. A straightforward job may be quoted directly. Substantial applications may need a separately priced definition phase first. Its deliverables and price are agreed before you commit to it.
What if an existing product already does the job?
Then we should look at it. A suitable existing tool or integration can be a better decision than custom development. I am interested in solving the problem, not making the build unnecessarily large.
Can you work with our existing data and systems?
Often, but the details matter. We check available APIs, export formats, data quality, permissions, and third-party limitations before committing. Migration and integration work must be included in the scope rather than treated as an invisible extra.
Who owns and looks after the application?
Source/code ownership or licensing, service accounts, hosting, documentation, and access are defined in the proposal. Ongoing software maintenance is a real responsibility. We agree who handles it and what support includes, rather than pretending that launch means no further care is needed.
Does every application need AI?
No. AI is useful when it improves a defined job and its behavior can be handled responsibly. A clear form, a reliable integration, or a well-designed workflow may be the better solution. Entrytwo shows one use of AI alongside accounting rules and a traceable history, not a rule that every product needs it.
Let's make
it work.
A new website. A custom application.
That idea you keep coming back to.
Send the current URL, tell me what needs fixing, or explain what you have in mind. You don't need to arrive with a specification.
